Wesley Britt serves as Executive Vice President of 68 Ventures, where he focuses on business development, strategic partnerships, acquisition opportunities, and economic development initiatives across the company’s portfolio. A native of Cullman, Alabama, Wesley brings more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of business, government, and economic development. His career has been shaped by discipline, resilience, service, and a team-first approach to leadership.
Before joining 68 Ventures, Wesley advised businesses and organizations on governmental affairs, public policy, economic development, and strategic initiatives at Fine Geddie & Associates. He previously spent more than a decade at Alabama Power in leadership roles spanning economic and community development, governmental relations, corporate affairs, and applied innovation. During his time there, Wesley helped advance efforts to recruit jobs and capital investment, expand broadband access, modernize energy services, address workforce challenges, and strengthen communities throughout Alabama.
Wesley attended The University of Alabama on a football scholarship and became a four-year starter, team captain, and All-American offensive tackle for the Crimson Tide. After suffering a serious leg injury that ended his junior season, he returned to earn All-American honors, First-Team All-SEC recognition, and the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the Southeastern Conference’s top offensive lineman. Wesley played in the Senior Bowl before being selected in the 2005 NFL Draft and spending four seasons with the New England Patriots, including as a member of the 2007 team that completed an undefeated regular season and advanced to Super Bowl XLII.
While playing professionally, Wesley began preparing for a career beyond football by founding, operating, and later selling a real estate development company. After retiring from the NFL, he returned to The University of Alabama and earned his Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in finance, from the Manderson Graduate School of Business, graduating first in his class.
Wesley earned his undergraduate business degree in management from Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business, completing the program in three and a half years. His academic and leadership honors include induction into Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Jasons Senior Men’s Honorary, as well as selection as a Blackburn Institute Fellow. He also served as president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, twice earned SEC All-Academic honors, was named to the SEC Good Works Team, and received the Gene Stallings Award for community service.
Wesley serves on the boards of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and Embrace Alabama Kids and is a graduate of Leadership Alabama. He also serves on the Senior Bowl Committee and the Montgomery Area Committee of 100.
Wesley and his wife, Katie, have two children, Bennett and Ridgeway. They are active members of their church, where Wesley chairs the missions committee and helps lead the church’s local and international service efforts. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and their assortment of animals, including Scout, their dog; Oreo, their cat; and six chickens.
Wesley believes leadership begins with keeping your word, putting the team ahead of yourself, and using the opportunities you have been given to create opportunities for others.
