John Wilson, CPA, CFE, MBA, serves as the Vice President of Finance and Accounting at 68 Ventures, offering extensive experience in guiding financial strategy and execution.
He recently held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Baldwin County Public Schools for 13 years, leading financial transformations that included stabilizing tax revenue, building over $100 million in reserves, and implementing a groundbreaking $850 million construction initiative to address the county’s rapid growth. John is nationally recognized for his innovative financial approaches to tackling funding challenges. His expertise spans negotiating financial terms, deploying advanced analytics, and ensuring compliance. He has a proven track record of managing large budgets, handling complex transactions, and building high-performing teams.
Before joining the Board, John worked in Atlanta for Ernst & Young as an external corporate auditor for major public SEC clients in the Atlanta area.
John is a native of Daphne, Alabama, and holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Auburn University, as well as a master’s in business administration from Auburn University at Montgomery.
John enjoys spending quality time with his family, which includes his wife, Emily, and their two children, Sealy Kate and Chapman. He loves taking advantage of the great outdoor activities in Baldwin County, such as boating, fishing, and hunting.
